“SANS, STOP PLAGUING MY LIFE WITH INCIDENTAL MUSIC!!!”
I had this WIP sitting in my folder since late September, and couldn’t really finish it. I wanted to thank @mcstronghuge for giving me Undertale. I wasn’t feeling great last year, and this scene made me laugh so damn hard.
He’s basically the typical “self-absorbed, overconfident” trope BUT with one big difference.
Instead of “I’M SUPER COOL AND YOU SUCK!” he’s like “I’M SUPER COOL AND YOU’RE SUPER COOL TOO, PLEASE BE MY FRIEND!”
He’s never selfish or mean, everything he does has his friends and family in mind. He’s not self-loathing or hateful, he can see the goodness in himself and others without being a dick about it.
that is super special to me because his character inspires me as a self-loathing judgmental person who is working hard to change

i started this comic on christmas dayand i thought i was going to get it done that night but i ended up not finishing it until last friggin night (for shame moon for shame) bUT ITS DONE AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS RIGHT?????

Everyone says “Poor Papyrus” but forgets that he is a very intelligent person who isn’t ignorant cuz he wants to be, but because none of the other monsters want to tell him what’s going on. He thinks being a member of the Royal Guard is a position of respect and of people who serve justice, which it is, but no one ever told him it also meant that you didn’t just capture humans. You kill them.
When he tries to capture the player character, he admits he doesn’t even know what happens after you’re sent to the castle, all he knows is that that’s just what you’re supposed to do. And when he sees Undyne get “murdery” he’s incredibly nervous, cuz no one ever told him that this is what would happen.
Less protect Papyrus and more be honest to Papyrus so he wouldn’t get hurt in the first place ahhh.
