Hymn of the True Heros – Undertale Piano Arrangement

What started out as me just trying to transcribe Battle Against A True Hero to piano turned into something that wanted to tell the story of the most hidden hero of the Genocide Route, too.
From then it took me quite a few weeks to get this right, but I’m mostly quite content with how it turned out now.

So, I hope you will like my little tribute to Undyne and Alphys of the Genocide Route!

If you would like to use this song for anything Undertale-related, I have no problem with that! Just make sure to give credit and link back, that would be nice. 🙂

god of hyperdeath: draws on the power of every soul in the underground to become a god

undyne the undying: “I can feel everyone’s hearts beating as one!”

hearts and souls are essentially the same in undertale. there’s also a heartbeat sound in the background of “but the earth refused to die”

conclusion: undyne the undying tapped into the same power as the god of hyperdeath, the power of every soul in the underground, in order to come back from the dead and kick your murderous little ass. the difference is that where god of hyperdeath took it by force, in undyne’s case that power was given to her willingly for the sole purpose of stopping you.

To further this- the reason Asriel absorbs almost every monster in the underground (every monster besides Napstablook, in fact) is that the souls of every monster in the underground are enough to equal one human soul. So with the power of the six human souls and the monster souls, which equal one human soul, Asriel is able to carry infinite power.

Undyne doesn’t have six human souls, so- with the willing strength of every monster in the underground behind her- she has power roughly equivalent to one human soul. As we know from Alphys’s experiments, the key characteristic of a human soul is Determination. By channeling the power of everyone in the underground, Undyne the Undying is able to try and use Determination like a human would- except, as we also know from Alphys’s experiments, monster bodies can’t handle DT.

Undyne recieved the power of a human soul from the willing hearts of everyone in the underground, and was almost as powerful as a human. The only thing that stopped her was the limitation of her monster body.

About the no-mercy run…

Why does everyone love Sans’ fight the best, or think it’s the coolest and such? He literally only fights you during that single run after mostly everyone has been killed or evacuated, and everyone calls him a hero for trying to stop you???

What about Undyne? Who tries to stop you in ANY run heroically, and during the no mercy run, who jumps in front of a kid who she barely knows just to take the blow and protect them, and then realizes that if she doesn’t stop you, no one will. So she actually COMES BACK TO LIFE and succeeds beating you over and over, knowing that the fate of the while Earth lies in your hands and that she needs to stop it.

Also, Sans is pretty strong, I’ll give him that. But, can I just say that he knows that you’ve been running around killing random monsters, and he KNOWS that you’re about to face his brother and most likely kill him as well, but where is he?? He doesn’t try to stop Papyrus from meeting up with you, and was probably watching you turn his brother to dust, and then he just decides to give it all he’s got after there’s NOTHING LEFT.

Heck, even during the pacifist/neutral run, he still tries to get rid of you indirectly by letting someone else do it for him.

After all this, should we really putting such a focus of attention on Sans??

Ok, I usually don’t reblog things but I REALLY want to say something for this
I totally agree with what you’ve said, but I want to add something about Sans following only MY impressions and opinion, so don’t take this too seriosly
Sans doesn’t kill us in all the Neutral Route and doesn’t stop us even in the genocide because of the promise he has made to Toriel, and I think that that’s VERY important, because it shows us that Sans for a single promise to a stranger (or not if we have done the pacifist ending before but wathever) could “forgive” everything we’ve done if we spared even only a single monster, HE FRICKING APOLOGISES TO TORIEL THAT IS DEAD WHEN HE HAVE TO, and probably this is the reason why he doesn’t like to make promises, because he KNOWS that he will never ever breaks that promise unless he really, really have to. Even if the person he has made the promise with is DEAD
And if the fandom instead than the battle (that is AWESOME, nothing to say) focused on THIS I think that it would leave space to the other amazing characters that are less considered
Now, the first route that I’ve done in Undertale is the Genocide cuz I’m an horrible person
But I didn’t have the heart to do it, I literally stared at Papyrus for half an hour before kill him and I continued only because I thinked that nothing would have been worst than him
BUT THEN UNDYNE, AHAHAH
When she came back to life just because she had persons to protect, just because she knew that without her countless monsters would have been erased, AND EVEN WHEN SHE’S MELTING SHE PUTS OTHERS IN FRONT OF HER, and I just started crying without a reason and I feel really stupid while saying this but I am so no problem duh.
I still dream her fight sometimes, it’s horrible.
AND IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY THAT PEOPLE DON’T TALK ABOUT IT, IT’S AWESOME AND IT DESERVES FANART AND FANFICTION AND OTHER THINGS THAT THE SANS’ FIGHT HAS
So, I think that if people stopped considering the Sans’ fight the only fight in the Genocide run we could see more the other characters that deserve it.
(Also sorry for my bad english but it’s not my first language)
