Maybe the spears are actually physical and merely channel magic, and she uses her magic to summon and propel them? I mean, papyrus has crates of bones in his house right? Maybe the magic is actually just the thrust

that’s actually very likely because in the bg on alphys’ date at the dumps you can clearly see several spears sticking up from the garbage too. HMM
