Hot dang…

An incredible orchestrated medley of Undertale songs that resurrected this blog from the dead.  Exquisite arrangement with beautiful playing.  Toby Fox himself tweeted about it on Twitter.

0:04 – Determination (speech intro)
1:07 – Spear of Justice
2:47 – sans.
3:32 – Papyrus (Bonetrousle)
4:32 – Bergentrückung / Asgore
5:45 – Toriel (Heartache)
6:39 – Asgore (reprise)

I have no words to say except that I love pretty much everything about this, and I highly recommend you give this a try if you like good things.  It’s a little on the longer side.  It is well worth the length.

Also the second half of the song is quite possibly my favorite Undertale performance of all time.  It’s at least top five.

holy shit????????????????????????????????????????? this owns?????????????????????????????????????????

If alphys injected determination into more than just that one flower would there be multiple Asriels

Wait, but didn’t she try multiple flowers?

Does @passivechara know?
They know a lot of stuff.

Flowey was made from the first golden flower that grew in the Underground and was infused with Asriel’s dust.

All the other golden flowers descended from that one but I guess monster essence magic does not carry over genetically.

Yeah, she tried lots of flowers, but only the first one changed noticeably.

Personally I think a flower from the surface would have to be pretty dang DETERMINED to bloom in the Underground, especially outside of Asgore’s garden, so I can’t help wondering if it was just a change Alphys wouldn’t have noticed since she isn’t a plant person…

The Determination injections reversed the state of “fallen down” for the monsters in the Lab.

Heck even the remains of monsters can be brought back, as seen with Flowey, with Determination and a physical form to anchor to.

And I think I know why.

My body…It feels like it’s splitting apart.
Like any instant…I’ll scatter into a million pieces.
But…
Deep, deep in my soul.
There is a burning feeling I can’t describe.
A burning feeling that WON’T let me die.

Monster SOUL’s have Determination in them.
But unlike humans who have bodies made of physical matter, and whose Determination makes their Souls persist after death…

Monsters use their Soul’s Determination to maintain their bodily form.

That’s why even normal monsters like Gerson can live for a millennia without ever “falling down” and why monster Souls don’t last long after the Body is destroyed.
Age doesn’t cause “falling down” because the age pool of monsters is at such a wide range going from Snowy’s mom to Shyrin’s sister.
When monsters loose Determination it compromises their physical wellbeing.
